Metrostav DIZ a.s. was established by a merger of a part of Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. and GTP Servis. The merger succeeded in concentrating the long experience and know-how in the energy sector and steel structures of Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. and the service and design activities of GTP Servis into one strong company.

Metrostav DIZ s.r.o. was founded in June 1997 under the name DIS-R s.r.o. It provided comprehensive services in the conventional power sector, in particular turnkey EPC deliveries. The company was renamed DIZ Bohemia s.r.o. (DIZ – dodavatelsko-inženýrské závody/supplier-engineering plants) in 2005 and its activities expanded into the flue gas cleaning segment of the conventional power sector. For example, it modernised the desulphurisation systems at the Mělník I and Dětmarovice power plants.

Since 2007, the activities of the flue gas cleaning centre have also focused on incinerators. Significant projects in this period include the provision of new electrostatic precipitators for ZEVO Malešice and a new section of the hot water pipeline from ZEVO to the Prague heating system. The company opened centres in Ostrava and Prague in 2008–2009. In 2014–2016, DIZ Bohemia handled, for example, the modernisation of the desulphurisation system at Vřesová Power Plant.

The company carried out desulphurisation of the Mělník I Power Plant, boilers K1–K6, in 2015–2020. Since 2017, it has been part of the Metrostav Group, where it has successfully expanded the portfolio of technologies it works with and services it provides, in order to implement the most important projects in EPC technological units for the power sector in the Czech Republic. In 2023 and 2025, it signed a contract for the implementation of the first two key projects for the transformation of the heating industry for the City of Prague, i.e. a future waste to energy plant and a new steam-gas cycle plant in the Mělník location in the form of a turnkey EPC project with a total value of over one billion euros.
