Refurbishment of Industrial Palace Enters Third Year
27. 3. 2025On Tuesday, 25 March 2025, a press conference was held about the refurbishment of the Industrial Palace at the Prague Exhibition Grounds. The main topic was to evaluate the progress of work in the third year of this extensive and demanding restoration of an important historical building in the capital. The press briefing was followed by a guided tour of the construction site, which was conducted by David Čech, the project manager from plant 9.
Work is currently being completed on the roofs of the left wing and the central hall with its distinctive clock tower. With the arrival of spring, construction work on the building’s right wing is also continuing in full swing.
The refurbishment of the right wing brought several unexpected complications. Originally a temporary building, the actual state of the structures revealed a higher level of complexity, which required modifications to the project documentation. Following their incorporation, construction work is now proceeding according to the updated schedule. The built-in ceiling is currently being dismantled, and plastering and the underlying layers for floors and paving are expected to be completed, in both the interior and in the exterior, this year.
The refurbishment of the Industrial Palace is scheduled for completion in June 2026. The project contractor is an association of the companies Metrostav DIZ (leader), AVERS, SYNER and Metrostav a.s.
