Construction of Bubny Centre of Memory and Dialogue Begins

15. 7. 2025

After many years of efforts, the project to revitalise the former Prague-Bubny railway station has been launched and the main stage of construction works has started.
The Bubny Centre for Memory and Dialogue will be opened here. Its mission is to preserve the memory of the victims of the Holocaust and to create a living place that connects the past with the present through educational and cultural programmes.

“We see the establishment of the Bubny Centre of Memory and Dialogue as an extremely important project and we very much appreciate the opportunity to participate in its implementation. From the viewpoint of society in general, this is one of the most important buildings we will be working on. In technical terms, the refurbishment of the station building requires maximum sensitivity to the original architecture, but at the same time the integration of modern elements and technologies. We have extensive and long-standing experience with this type of building work. We believe that the resulting work will represent the importance of this place and its message with dignity,” said Karel Volf, Director of Metrostav DIZ.

The construction will be carried out by Plant 1 and the implementation team will be led by Jaroslav Suchý.

The project’s design and construction aspects are managed by the railway administrator, Správa železnic, státní organizace.
